You know that you need positive reviews to grow your business. The question is, how do you get them?

We've put together the following handy list of 5 methods ranging from super easy to more complex for increasing your positive review traction.

Create a Yelp Check-In Offer

A Yelp check-in offer serves double duty — it incentivizes your customers to check-in and interact with your Yelp listing, and helps protect their review from the Yelp filter since it proves that the customer was at your location. A customer can check-in on their Yelp mobile app if they're within 5 miles of your business. If you have an offer set up, Yelp shows a screen where they can redeem and you can mark as used.

Creating your check-in offer is quick, easy, and free. A good offer is something that is small, branded, and easy to pass out — think a company mug or tote bag.

Train Your staff

It may be the easiest task in this list, but training your employees in asking for a review makes a big impact. Your happy customers want to share their experience, but they probably won't think to do it on their own.

Come up with a quick strategy that your employees can use to ask for the review when they know a customer had a positive experience. Start by asking if the customer is a Yelper or has a Gmail address. If their answer is yes, let them know that you would love to hear their feedback on your review sites.

Focus on quality over quantity when it comes to reviews — not only will it help avoid the filter, it will make your reviews appear more genuine.

Use Store signage

Window clings and table tents that advertise your Yelp check-in generate interest and lets your customers know that you're active on review sites. Strategically placed signage does the work of starting the review conversation for you. If you don't have a graphic designer on standby, drop us a line - we'd love to create some amazing signage for you.

Book a Street Team

If you have a special event with more foot traffic coming in your door, take advantage of it! GoFanbase's Event Specialists are available for two and three day events to focus on checking in your customers on Yelp and asking for reviews on all your sites. Having a specialist team focused on getting you reviews keeps your staff focused on selling and gains you incredible review site traction.

A Street Team also includes a training session with our specialists, where they teach your team best review site practices and how to effectively ask for a review.

Use the GoFanbase app

After you take your happy customer's photo with GoFanbase, they'll be asked to rate their experience. If their feedback is positive, they'll be emailed a link to share it on your review sites.

Increasing your positive reviews doesn't happen overnight, and there isn't a "magic" fix, but implementing all or a few of these solutions will increase your traction and your numbers over time.
